Erin is a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, a graduate of East Ascension High School, and LSU. Erin graduated LSU Law School in 2003 after being selected for the Louisiana Law Review, an honor bestowed on the top students in her class. Upon graduation, Erin began practicing commercial litigation at Phelps Dunbar in Baton Rouge. In 2007, she moved her practice to Ascension and joined Percy, Lanoux & Mumphrey, where she maintains a diverse legal practice, representing individuals, businesses, public bodies and non-profit organizations. Since 2015, she has been the City Attorney for the City of Gonzales. With extensive trial experience in the Ascension Parish Court, the 23rd Judicial District Court, and numerous other state and federal district courts, Erin has ample courtroom experience to be an effective Parish Court Judge.
Erin has been married to Jay Lanoux for over 16 years and they have three wonderful daughters, Abby, Audrey, and Alex. They are lifelong members of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. Erin’s parents are Jeff and Linda Wiley. She is proud to come from a family with a history of dedicated public service going back three generations. This has molded her into a person of strong character and work ethic.
Erin’s commitment to the community is strong, evidenced by her history of serving and leading various organizations such as the 23rd Judicial District Bar Association as President in 2016 and the Ascension Chamber of Commerce as Chairwoman of the Board in 2017. One of her proudest accomplishments was successfully co-founding a charitable organization, Project Kidz Kove, which raised funds and constructed a playground so that children with disabilities can play alongside all children. Kidz Kove Discovery Park opened to the public in 2014.
